Change on the horizon

Alma came through with a job offer...now we're just waiting to see if Mitch can transfer to Mt. Pleasant, or if Lansing wants to hire me. The final decision will be made by Wednesday, but it looks like we're heading back downstate! If anyone knows of some nice, non-student apartments in Mt. P, or a house to rent anywhere in the general vicinity, let me know, because that's the next project. Oh, and the job would probably start June 6th or so. Whew!

You GO, girl!

Congratulations! Hope you get good news from Mitch's people that makes the right decision blindingly obvious. So cool!

So, yeah, we're happy that you got a job offer too! BUT I think you're are over looking some other possibilities like... the Bay Area! So what if there are no 5/3 banks within 999.00 miles of 94709? (is that the right bank??) We have a huge Washington Mutual and an equally huge Wells Fargo right downtown! Walking distance from our apartment. You wouldn't need a car (not that you can find parking downtown anyways). The bay has the water (kayaking fun, and just this weekend we went for a free sailboat ride to see if we want to join the local sailing club) the hills (open space to walk your cat), all the people (all ages, all lengths of hair), the history (come on, it IS Berkeley!), the culture (in fact just today I got called "my black sister" by one of my students... how can you beat that?)

Mt. Pleasant? Just another white town in the middle of flat Michigan.

"when the lights go down in the city, and the sun shines on the bay... oh, I want to get baaack to my citae by the baaaaaay, ooooo-ooooo-o-o-oh" (Journey "Lights" In Concert in Lansing on July 11, 2005)

Need I go on?

But don't move here until we've come to Michigan this summer to visit you. We would hate to miss you!
